WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
The Clinical Hypnosis Train-the-Trainer course is a live, 9-hour program delivered over two days via Zoom that equips you with the skills to provide constructive coaching and feedback in small group practice sessions to learners enrolled in Clinical Hypnosis Courses offered by the Institute for Trauma Informed Hypnotherapy.
AUDIENCE/SKILL LEVEL
This is an Advanced skill level course for Licensed Psychologists, Counselors, and Social Workers with 50+ hours of clinical hypnosis training & at least 3 years' experience using hypnosis in practice
PROGRAM AGENDA, SCHEDULE, AND HOURS
Day 1: Teaching Adult Learners & Delivering Effective Feedback
- 12:00 – 12:20 PM ET | Define the role/responsibilities of a clinical hypnosis group facilitator
- 12:20 – 1:00 PM ET | Review principles of adult learning and four types of learning styles
- 1:00 – 1:30 PM ET | Explain procedures for teaching hypnosis and key observation skills
- 1:30 – 1:45 PM ET | Break
- 1:45 – 2:15 PM ET | Discuss strategies for delivering supportive and effective feedback
- 2:15 – 3:45 PM ET | Role-play common learning mistakes and practice giving feedback
- 3:45 – 4:00 PM ET | Review small group practice experiences and discuss takeaways
- 4:00 – 4:30 PM ET | Plan, facilitate, and evaluate a small group practice session
Day 2: Demonstrating Competency in Teaching Hypnosis & Feedback Delivery
- 12:00 – 1:00 PM ET | Discuss strategies for managing learner challenges & group dynamics
- 1:00 – 1:45 PM ET | Practice Session 1 – Demonstrate a hypnotic induction and provide supportive, constructive feedback to small group participants

You'll be eligible for 9 CEs after completing this program in its entirety, recognized by the following organizations. Partial credit is not available.

COURSE INSTRUCTOR
Courtney Armstrong, LPC/MHSP is a licensed professional counselor with 30 years’ experience who specializes in grief and trauma recovery. She is the Founder of the Institute for Trauma Informed Hypnotherapy which trains mental health professionals worldwide and developed a successful national hypnosis training program for the United States Veterans Health Administration in 2020 and has trained more than 400 healthcare providers in clinical hypnosis through that program over the last five years.
Courtney has been certified as an approved consultant in clinical hypnosis by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) and served on their training and education committees. In addition, she was given the 2024 Presidential Award from the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis for her innovative contributions in teaching hypnosis.
Courtney is author of the books Rethinking Trauma Treatment: Attachment, Memory Reconsolidation and Resilience, The Therapeutic “Aha!” and Transforming Traumatic Grief, and has contributed to several professional publications.

Instructor Courtney Armstrong receives a royalty from W. W. Norton for sales of her books, but none of her books are required for this course. There is no known commercial support for this program or conflicts of interest for this course.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If you need to cancel your registration before the class starts, please call 423-876-3490 or email courtney@courtneyarmstrong.net with your request. Cancellations received prior to March 14, 2025 will refunded tuition less a 10% processing fee.
Cancellations will not be accepted after 3/14/25, but we may be able to offer partial credit towards a future course.
